Whether you choose to hike the famous Cathedral Spires Trail or drive through the iconic Needles Highway, every adventure promises to leave you in awe of the park's beauty. Ride through the Park’s private, interior dirt roads in an open-air Jeep to spot the bountiful buffalo herds of Custer State Park on an off-road excursion named one of the Top 10 Safaris in the US.

Set in the beautiful mountain valley of the Black Hills, stay in modernized cabins near Coolidge Creek and the historical State Game Lodge, where curious roaming buffalo have been known to peek into visitor’s windows from time to time. With flat terrain, easy access to the most popular hiking trails, and Coolidge Creek winding through nearby, the cabins are the picturesque properties for unwinding among the oak trees in rustic style. Or stay at the cabins by the Sylvan Lake Lodge and see Custer State Park's crown jewel for yourself. Rich in history and natural beauty, the lodge is situated within a hillside forest of pine and spruce trees, in harmony with the beauty of the park’s rugged granite mountain spires and offering a breathtaking view of Sylvan Lake.
